I used cardboard on my layout as well as some painting with bubble wrap and used up bits of scraps.

So, I bet you're wondering what the heck is this weeks challenge about? Denise came up with a FAB idea!! It's a recipe challenge, but not a crafty recipe!! We're going all out with REAL recipes this week!! We want you to share your recipes with us - food, drink, bath salts, body rubs - that sort of thing!! Something that we can all try ourselves!! We as a family usually do not do anything on New Years Eve, but this year we went to a friends house to ring in the New Year. This is proof that you had a good time when the kitchen looks like this the next day!!

My One Little Word...

for 2012 is ESTABLISH. For several years now I have jumped on the band wagon along with many other scrapbookers and have joined Ali Edwards in selecting a word that I strive to use everyday in my life. I try to pick a word that will have meaning to me and others around me. I picked Establish for so many reasons. I want to establish a better relationship with my daughter and her husband. I want to establish a better relationship with my twin boys. I want to establish a better relationship with my sister. Most of all I want and need to ESTABLISH and maintain a better relationship with my husband. The list could go on and on of things I want to better establish and that is why I picked that as my word. Over at Scrapbook Circle they are having a little challenge about goals and using your one little word and this is what I came up with

I hope all my readers out there have a Merry Christmas. Remember this man is watching!!!
I did take a little time to work on a layout for Lasting Memories and the challenge this time was to use a photo they posted as inspiration and you could use the sketch as well. I used the colors from the photo and that the fact the small boy was lying down, I also used the sketch. and this is also for my DT Entry for Lasting Memories as well...fingers crossed.

In other news...I did not make the final cut for Creative Memories...a little sad, but it happens in the scrapbooking world. I will now show what I made for them...

Here are my final layouts for Sweet Peach Crop Shop. This was the last month Corrie was having kits. It's sad really in today's economy that this has to happen. I truly loved working for Corrie and loved designing with these kits. All kits have been marked down at an incredible price till sold out over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop!!

I also have another one I did and it is based on a sketch by Keri here is the sketch.. I am adding this to the last challenge over at Scrap It With A Song and I have another layout to share with you today and it is for The Paper Variety This is a picture of my twin boys when they were like two years old!! They are now almost 20!! I also found a new challenge place to play along at it is called Lasting Memories and here is my layout for this challenge

My Last Day...

Today was a sad day for me over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop. This was my last and finial post. Again, thank you Corrie for having me on your Design Team and I am very honored to say I was able to work for a wonderful kit club and wonderful person. There was so many great girls that designed there and will miss working with them as well. My post today over at Sweet Peach Crop Shop was showcasing my December Countdown Stockings that I had made...here are a few photos of those.

I had a chance to finish one more layout this weekend before I had to actually get some real work done....gah I hate reality sometimes!!! Anyways, I did this layout for ScrapFit and Sketches In Thyme. Scrapfit's challenge was to journal ‘go around’ the outside of something. It can go around the outside of you page, around your photo or even around an embellishment. Show us how you journal around!
Sketches In Thyme's challenge this week was an Open Challenge so I used a sketch from Ideas for Scrapbooker's Here is the sketch...

I did my journaling all around the layout about what it takes to be friends.

Working for the Weekend...

I got a couple of layouts finished over the weekend and since the weekend is not officially over I still have more scrapping to do!! Anyways here are two of the layouts I have done so far...This first one is for Scrapfit and the challenge was
Numbers, numbers and more numbers! Lets see a layout or card with lot and lot of numbers. Show us how your numbers add up! I did a layout of my Brother in Law's 2nd birthday...
The next layout is for Lily Bee and it was a sketch challenge, but you had to use at least two Lily Bee products here is the sketch...
and this is my take on the sketch... this is a layout about one of my twin boys finally getting out of the hospital after being in there after a month and being able to meet his Uncle Tim. Lily Bee products used for this layout are: Black Licorice - Harvest Market, Turtleneck - Harvest Market, Seize the Day - Picket Fence, and Memorandum Index Journaling Cards

She will be able to hang it in her new home when she is finished with Boot Camp and AIT School. It was from our wonderful weekend with her brothers. A weekend I will cherish forever.

Over at The Paper Variety they have been having a Blogaversary Celebration and while I have not been able to do all of the challenges as of yet I did manage to get one of them done. One of the challenges calls for you to do a layout or project using your favorite photo or photos. Well I had the perfect photo for this, well I have many favorite photos but I recently went to see my twin boys after almost 9 years and I finally got a picture of all of my children together. That was the best birthday present ever.
I miss them so much!!

Who Knew.....

Who would have ever thought that Moammar Qaddafi was a scrapbooker? While it is mostly a predominately a female hobby, it is very strange to hear of a male scrapbooker and what is even weirder than that one that is a crazy dictator as well from Libya! Upon Finding Moammar Qaddafi's scrapbook people have learned he was rather fond of Condoleezza Rice. It looks to me like he had a major crush on Condi.I wonder if Condi disclosed all that stuff. Rumors have it saying he gave her $212,000 worth of gifts, including a diamond ring. Anyways, back to the scrapbook....If you look at it, it is rather boring. It needs patterned paper and brads and maybe some Thickers. I'm sure the Arabic alpha stickers are a total pain in the a** to use, with all of those little dots above and below letters and there's only one font! As far as having supplies to use...it's probably hard to get a good CM or CTMH consultant out to Libya! Hmmmm I wonder if he had an account on 2 Peas? I wonder what his name screen name would be? scrappy time today. I got a couple things done, not as many as I wanted to. Its all good though. First, I did a couple of cards for Ally Scraps Over at Ally Scraps there is a sketch every month and this month it was for cards. There was a twist though, you had to use the same sketch but mirror the sketch. Here is the sketch...

Thirdly, is a layout that I was able to combine for several challenge places. I love it when I am able to kill two birds with one stone...so to speak!! Over at The Paper Variety the challenge this week was to create a project about or for that special man or boy in your life. Over at Bird is the Word challenge this week the word is Amazing, which I have included this into my title. Next, I was able to do Scrapfit's challenge as well. Scrapfits challenge was Around The House, well I did not get all that crazy with mine I simply inked up some bubble wrap and used that as a stamp...I know kinda simple. So, here is the layout that fit's in with all these challenges....Be Amazing!

First, I want to post about Sweet Peach Crop Shop has the full reveal of the kits up today and once again Corrie the owner has done an excellent job on putting these kits together.

I decided to take a little break from cropping and adjusting photos from this past weeks hockey tournament and do a little scrapping....kinda get tired of looking at over 400 hockey photos. For this first layout I played along with a sketch from PageMaps

Sweet Peach Crop Shop is looking for one new Sketch Artist for a 6 month term beginning July 2011 through December 2011. Requirements of a SPCS Sketch Artist are as follows:
- one new (previously unpublished) monthly sketch each month by the 18th of the month prior
- one layout created by the sketch artist using the monthly kit
- one additional layout by the sketch artist using the kit (it can be a different take on the same sketch)
- heading up the sketch challenge each month with 2 scheduled blog posts. One to announce the challenge, show DT and own examples. And one to close the challenge and choose and announce the winner.
- must view and comment on player’s submissions.
- be a fan of SPCS Facebook page
- regular commenting on fan’s who share their pages on SPCS FB page
- post on your personal blog the kit reveals each month
- post on your personal blog the sketch challenge each month

inspiration and wanting to scrap, but just not feeling it here lately. I feel like it has been forced and not all that pleased with my layouts. I often turn to challenges sites that have sketch's for a starting point, still not happy with the outcome. I did this layout for my daughter to give to her husband when she goes to see him next month when he graduates from basic training. I will frame it for her and she will then have a little gift for him. This month over at ScrapFit they want us to show off the glitter and glam. I used stickles,mists,bling and a glittery prima flower. I also used the new sketch from Sassy Lil Sketch's as well

So glad to be home from our little vacation. The good news is my sons hockey team won the tournament for his division. things I am trying to find to do instead of packing and getting ready for our hockey/vacation. I love going on hockey trips (usually) and I love, love watching my son play travel hockey. I love his intensity, his hockey smarts, and his drive. I cannot however stand the parents this year. It has been a long miserable year. This is the last trip and we are almost done with this season....thank goodness. So, I have put off packing as long as I can and I have scrapped some more (which by the way, I am taking my supplies with me.)This first layout was a scraplift of Ana White for XOXO Girls I also included Scrapfits new challenge #38 into this one as well.

What's a girl to do? Well scrap of course. That is exactly what I did today. I had the day off today, my son kept himself occupied and hubby trudged to work. It looks like I might have the next few days off, keeping my fingers crossed. We are getting hit pretty hard with the ice right now here in the Midwest and next is the snow. They are reporting up to 24 inches. I worked on some of my Design Team stuff....I will show that work soon. I also worked on just random stuff today while playing along on some challenge sites. I am addicted to challenges, I can't stop. It does not matter if there is prizes or not. It is the thrill of the whole deadline, seeing if my name will get picked, etc... I know I am out of my mind. It keeps me busy.

Day 4 of The New Year...

This was a picture of my Dad from his surprise dinner last year when he turned the big "60"

I used a picture of my Dad and his wife and his new found love, I chose this picture because after many years of bad marriage I do believe this is the perfect one for him.

and I am chugging along here. I spent some time creating today while watching some football and now I am going to get ready to watch the Rams play the Seahawks. Here is another idea of what you can do with the Sweet Peach Crop Shop Juicy kit. For this card I also recycled some and used the packaging from the Jillibean Soup corrugated shapes that are in the kit. I also did a little shopping New Years Eve at a local store and they were having a sale....love that. I walked out of there with scrapbook items totalling over $100.00 and I got it all for $64.00 I have had my eye on We R Memory Keepers Merry January line and .....I bought it. Here is one layout I have made with it so far. I used the sketch over at Sketches in Thyme this week for this.

As they say out with the old and in with the new. I'm not one to make New Years resolutions. I am not good with sticking to diets and exercise. I however for a couple of years now have jumped on the One Little Word wagon along with many other people and have chosen One Little Word from Ali Edwards and I try to stick with that word that I have chosen for the entire year. I just wanted to say thank you for the awesome gift you left me under the tree. I received a new digital camera for Christmas and it is going to take me months to read how to use it.
and I also got some new lenses to go with it. I already had some lenses that fit my other camera so now I have several.
So I have been doing some creating lately to take my mind off my doctors appointment I had the other day ( which was not good ) no I am not dying and no I do not have cancer. Here is what I can I show so far....

a couple of new blogs that are really great. So I decided to play along. The first one is The Kraft Journal and this one fits my style. I love Kraft paper. The next one is Sketches In Thyme and guess what I love sketches. So for this card I combined both blogs I used the sketch from Sketches In Thyme and using Kraft cardstock and doing a Christmas project from The Kraft Journal

So yesterday I posted I was not in the mood to do Christmas stuff, I am still not really. So I decided today to turn the local radio station on ( they are playing Christmas music 24/7 ) Well I started to feel a little jolly....but then I found this site The Paper Variety and then I was really in the mood to do a Christmas layout. This is my son a few years back with his visit with Santa. For this challenge I did a layout, made a banner and scrapped a holiday.
